Husky Golf at Summerland and Crofton

The boys golf team played in their first invites of the season by going to Summerland on April 12 and Crofton on April 17. The winds were challenging at Summerland as well as experiencing warmth for the first time this year. The conditioning of the golfers was challenged. We played roller-coaster golf. We would string together 2-3 acceptable holes, then make a big number, then bounce back with a good hole or two. At Crofton, the playing conditions were very good, but we were still inconsistent. As a team, we racked up 39 penalty strokes. We did shoot 19 strokes better on the 2nd nine at Crofton, so we did make adjustments during the day. It’s early in the season. We need to keep learning and developing skills.
