February is "Musical Month" in the K-4 Music room.  Each class gets to enjoy a different musical.  The kindergarten class is watching "Charlotte's Web" while the first graders are enjoying "The Aristocats".  Second grade are loving "Mary Poppins".  The third grade get to learn about the Von Trapp family singers in the classic, "The Sound of Music".  Last, but not least, the fourth graders always enjoy what I've found to be a favorite of my former fourth graders, "Perfect Harmony".  This movie is wonderful in many ways not only because of the music, but it also teaches a real- life lesson about two young boys from completely different backgrounds , who learn to respect each other and their differences.  I enjoy the giggles from the younger children and the serious conversations with the older groups.  What a great way to break up the winter blues!
