PK loved having a mystery helper today as we learn about ourselves and our senses: a real nurse! We got to listen to our own hearts with her stethoscope, practice asking questions, and listen to a story about visiting the doctor! 👩⚕️ Thank you Rachael for visiting with us! ❤️

Our Fundamentals of Nutrition and Culinary Essentials class explored the art of preserving food! Students learned safe canning techniques, from sterilizing jars to making salsa, pickles, and spaghetti sauce. The hands-on unit taught important kitchen skills and the science behind food preservation. Thank you to those who donated your extra produce! We put it all to use—plus, everyone got to take home something delicious!

Info from Coach Moser…

Mrs. Kraus's Algebra 1A class has been selected to participate in a beta testing program for an app called Goblins, which is targeted at high school students. As students submit their work and answers, the program highlights the incorrect part of their work and offers help at the top of the screen. When a problem is solved correctly, the program acknowledges them with "Sigma" or other words that are much more up-to-date and cooler than Mrs. Kraus.
When Mrs. Kraus is working with students and others finish an assignment early, they can work in "Infinite Mode" which is aligned to the Nebraska standards and will offer progressively harder questions after correct answers. This is supplementary to our curriculum and the response from the students has been positive!
