HS Wrestling Monday at Hartington CC starts at 6:00
Husky Wrestling fans: please read the below message for State WrestlingTickets. We submitted an order for 94 tickets. We will relieve all of the tickets for sessions 1-4, for sessions 5&6 our order was reduced to 64 tickets. More information will be shared out as soon as we can determine our best course of action for assigning the tickets for session 5&6. Refund information will also be distributed as we find out more information. Thank you for your patience.
I know that everyone has been anxiously waiting for the State Wrestling tickets to be sent out to those that preordered them through the NSAA State Wrestling ticket order form.
First, I want to explain the ticketing process for the NSAA Wrestling Championships that has been used successfully for years.
Schools request pre-sale tickets for state wrestling through the NSAA state ticket order form.
CHI policy states that all events are sold as reserved tickets.
i. The CHI ticket office handles all requests, money transactions and issues.
ii. This allows the ticket office to group fans together as a school.
iii. This also allows schools to avoid the additional “convenience fee” added to each transaction when buying tickets through Ticketmaster.
iv. Most importantly, it keeps outside vendors from purchasing high demand tickets and reselling them at a dramatically increased price.
v. For example, tickets for Sessions 5 & 6 have been advertised for resale by outside vendors for over $200.
Ticket requests for Sessions 1 through 4 will be filled with no issues. Reserved ticket requests for Session 5 and Session 6 exceeded the number of available reserved seats. Therefore, not all requests for those sessions can be filled.
All of the reserved tickets for Session 5 (semifinals) and Session 6 (finals) will be allocated to schools that requested them through the NSAA state wrestling ticket order form. This means no reserved tickets for Sessions 5 & 6 will be available when tickets are opened to the public.
Based on years of ticket sales, each class has had a pre-determined ticket allocation, unchanged for years.
The CHI ticket office determined a ticket limit based on the total number of tickets each class requested, compared to the number of seats allocated for each class.
Ticket orders over the ticket limit were decreased by an average of 24% . Therefore, each class has a different ticket limit per order form.
Schools that didn’t submit a ticket order form will have to buy tickets for Sessions 1-4 when they become available to the public through Ticketmaster or at the ticket window at the CHI Center.
Per CHI policy, “Standing Room Only” tickets can be sold only on the same day and time as the respective session.
Additionally, there will enviably be pre-purchased tickets that will not be used because:
Fans purchased tickets and their wrestlers don’t qualify.
Fans purchased tickets and their wrestler gets beat out of the tournament before session 5 & 6.
Schools overpurchased.
In 2023, when comparing tickets scanned to actual capacity of the CHI Center:
For session 5, 3000+ additional tickets could have sold, if needed.
For session 6, 4000+ additional tickets could have sold, if needed.
Although it will not be as convenient as pre-sale tickets via the order form, we believe that everyone that wants a ticket for Sessions 5 & 6 will be able to purchase one. Those tickets will only be available after the doors open for each respective session.
In the near future, a “ticket exchange” will be available via the NSAA AD Login Page, for those that wish to sell/buy tickets.
There currently is a legislative proposal to add an additional class of girls wrestling for the 2024-25 season. If the proposal passes, a potential format change to the state championships could alleviate these capacity issues.
The Boys Wrestling team WILL NOT be going to ORD on Friday.
Thanks
