West Holt Public School is currently accepting applications for 7-12 ELA Teacher beginning in the 2024-25 school year. Head Speech Coach is also available but not required. Appropriate endorsement or a provisional certification is expected. Middle level endorsements will be strongly considered as well. The district will consider other applicants who hold a teaching certificate and are willing to work toward appropriate endorsement. Other coaching and sponsorship is also available with this position. West Holt has a long time history of success in the Speech program with multiple state qualifiers ever year in Class C-1. There is great support for the speech team in the school and community. We host our own WH invite as well as having had the opportunity to host the district meet the last couple of years. A reminder that there is No School on Friday, March 15th for Preschool thru 6th grade students due to Spring Parent Teacher Conferences. 7-12 students will have a regular school day.
The 6th graders started a new unit in science. They are investigating how things are different when they are warmer or cooler.

Junior High golf begins on Monday, March 18. There will be a parent meeting for these golfers that evening in the Lecture Hall at 6 pm.

The Advanced History class has started their next book. We are reading The River of Doubt by Candice Millard. This book discusses the historical life of Teddy Roosevelt and highlights his famous expedition down the Amazon River after his election defeat in 1912. We definitely recommend this book!
