The 3rd graders learned about inherited traits in science. The final project required them to use traits from two parent creatures to create a possible offspring creature. Check out their creations!
Mrs. Havranek’s Class is ready to compete in the READBowl on beginning on Monday, January 8th, the day of the College Football National Championship Game. The READBowl is a free global reading competition designed to inspire kids to read. Students are being challenged to read each night for the next 4 weeks for 15 minutes each night. Students will track their minutes at home and school. Conference (grade level) winners will be announced each week. State winners announced at the end of READBowl. The READBowl ends with the crowning of the World Reading Champions on Super Bowl Sunday by Malcolm Mitchell, former New England Patriots football player.
The 5th and 6th graders will be hosting a potato bake Friday, January 5th during the West Holt vs Summerland basketball games.
Game Change Note: January 15th the JH Boys Game will begin at 4:00 at St. Mary's.

The Functional Skills class took a time out and created a little holiday cheer by decorating Gingerbread Houses of their very own! They also enjoyed hot chocolate and frosting sugar cookies!

Mrs. Pistulka's 1st grade class enjoyed listening to "The Gingerbread Man Loose in the School" by Laura Murray. The students enjoyed an unexpected scavenger hunt around the school looking for him. Although they did not catch him, he did leave them a tasty treat.
Earlier this month the 5th through HS bands and choirs performed their Christmas concerts. They all worked hard and sounded great!
Ainsworth can only play 2 quarters today so the varsity games will start closer to 4:00
